Adapted from Lei Mi's novel The Old Boy, this project unfolds in a remote and insular coastal town whose long-standing silence is shattered by the disappearance of a bag of drugs, setting off a chain reaction of chaos and a desperate "suicidal rescue." At the center of the storm is Hu Wenjing, a female criminal police officer who is accidentally drawn into a drug transaction; Cheng Ken, an ordinary father willing to sacrifice everything to save his daughter; Li Xiaoya, an ambitious woman determined to escape the confines of small-town life; and siblings Wang Ping and Wang An, whose lives are consumed and derailed by drugs. As desire and greed weave a suffocating cocoon around them, no one emerges unscathed.
