Based on a real story of one of Russia's most prolific serial killers, "The Angarsk Maniac" Mikhail Popkov, the series follows the Moscow police investigator who is sent into a small town to reassure the public and to put down the rumors about a serial killer. However, soon she discovers that the people she meets are not what they seem.
