In Zomer in Zeeland Sjors Mulder moves after the death of his wife from Amsterdam to the Zeeland village of Lekzand. His daughter Fenna and his son Jurgen are not waiting for this sudden change. When it turns out that Sjors describes his unvarnished opinion of the village in a column in a national newspaper, he immediately comes to the center of attention of the villagers.
