Written by Steven Moffat, Chalk focuses on the chaotic life of Eric Slatt (David Bamber), Deputy Headmaster at the rather terrible Galfast High Comprehensive School. Everything Slatt touches turns to chaos. Meanwhile his wife Janet (Geraldine Fitzgerald) and new English teacher Suzy Travis (Nicola Walker) continually strive to bring some normalcy to the long suffering pupils and staff.
